WELCOME! to the Adaption-Innovation website. This is the official website of KAI, the Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory.

The Occupational Research Centre is dedicated to improving problem solving for groups, management teams, organizations and individuals through Adaption-Innovation (A-I) Theory and the accompanying psychometric instrument, Kirton Adaption-Innovation Inventory (KAI). The theory and the KAI are used around the world.


KAI and its use:
The Inventory measures people on their style of problem solving and creativity. The measure is used:

KAI Practitioners are typically HR managers, company directors, business consultants & trainers. It is also used by academics in the fields of business, psychology, sociology and education.
